It doesn't seem we are in July already and the food delivery has ended. I would like to say thank you to a few people and groups that made the food distribution program a success. First hats off to Deb Morris and her staff in the cafeterias. They always had everything packed each day and ready to go for me to pick up. I know that was not an easy task, especially packing over 30,000 meals. I received a lot of recognition for delivering meals to McDonough but I was just the messenger. Three of my staff members met me in McDonough each day and re-packed meals for the families we serviced. I owe a great big thank you to Barb Sabines, Joanne Dean, and Carol Wilson for all they did. I also want to thank Angelique Bakalyar and Charlene Bryant for filling in as needed. Hats off to Pete and his team at the American Legion in McDonough. He always had at least two people at the Legion every day, even though they were not open. They made us coffee, furnished tables and a tent and provided bathroom facilities. Thank you so much. Finally a big thank you to the families in McDonough and surrounding area that we provided food to. Everyone was so supportive and pleasant. On the last day the ladies made a comment that it was going to be hard because they became our family for the last four months.
Again thank you to
