The Science Department teachers and students plan to present a “Science Is Fun!” event with hands-on activities for children ages 5 to 12 on Thursday, October 28, from 6 to 8 pm. This event will be held in all science rooms simultaneously so that every child can get attention and safely participate in all activities. We ask parents with last names A-M to join us at 6 pm and those with names N-Z to arrive at 7 pm.
The theme of this year’s event is Science and Art! This free program is designed to introduce children to the wonders of science in ways they can easily understand. Below are some of the activities:
- Color a paper rainbow trout using household chemicals.
- Learn what a rainbow is made of.
- Make stained glass from Elmer’s glue.
- Paint a fresco.
- Make a gift from fall leaves.
- Make glow-in-the-dark slime just in time for Halloween.
- And more!
Park in the front parking lot and enter the building through the high school entrance. There will be signs directing you to the correct location.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn about chemistry, physics, earth science, biology, and art! We are looking forward to seeing you and your children!
