Summer Reading and Math Program

SCHOOL IS CLOSED THROUGH APRIL 13. 

School districts must continue to provide remote instruction and meals to students as well as childcare for essential workers every weekday through April 14 to receive waivers from the 180-day instructional requirement – even if they had been scheduled to be on spring break during that time. 

FOOD SERVICE - Grab and go meal pickups are:

--OXFORD: Primary School entrance, 10 am to 1 pm, Monday-Friday.  Starting April 6, this pick up time at this location will change to 11 am to 12:30 pm
--MCDONOUGH: American Legion parking lot, 11 am to 11:30 am, Monday-Friday

Monday – Thursday 9:00 am- 12:00 pm

Mission Statement

The mission of the Oxford Academy and Central School Summer Reading and Math program is to provide students with continued exposure to Language Arts and to maintain their reading and math skills. The positive environment provided during the summer program includes various reading, writing, art and math activities and promotes positive self-esteem.  This program is only offered to students who are currently enrolled at Oxford Academy for the 2019-2020 school year.   

Transportation

Unfortunately, due to the lack of qualified and certified bus drivers, transportation will NOT be provided.  Students should arrive at 8:30 am in time for breakfast and be picked up at approximately 12:30 pm following lunch. 

If they are enrolled to attend the daily recreational sport program it runs from 12:30 - 2:00 pm.  

 

Meals

 The summer breakfast will be served from 8:30-9:00 am. (Monday-Thursday)

 The summer lunch will be served from12:00-12:30 pm. (Monday-Thursday)

 All summer meals are free to kids 18 and under.

 

Behavior Management Procedure

Students may be dismissed from the Oxford Summer Reading and Math program for disciplinary reasons.  The Oxford Summer Reading and Math program will follow the same OXAC Primary School Behavior Management Procedure.  (A copy of this procedure can be requested from the Oxford Elementary Office or can be viewed on the OXAC school website.)  If your child should be dismissed from the Summer Program the enrollment fee will not be refunded.

Enrollment

 

Please fill out and return the enrollment form (right hand column) for each student to reserve a space. Due to the evolution of the program over the past several years, the enrollment fee has changed to a graduated fee scale per family as follows: $50.00 first child, $40.00 second child, and $30.00 third child. No additional fee is charged after the third child. Please make checks payable to the Oxford Summer Program and return the form(s) and payment to either the Primary School office or Middle School office.
