Oxford Community

Oxford, located in Chenango County, is a rural community of about 4,000 residents in the town with 1,600 of those residing in the village. A friendly, safe community, Oxford’s residents are proud of their historic rural surroundings. The area provides a mix of agriculture and small business, while being a very short commute to manufacturing centers. The school community has high expectations for its children and has been highly supportive of the school district. The Village of Oxford has many features that make it an excellent place to live; churches, community swimming pool, parks, youth sports programs, and library, as well as active service and fraternal organizations. The area offers many opportunities for recreation; excellent hunting, fishing, golf and the facilities of a state park which is open all year.

Oxford is within easy travel distance of both educational and urban settings and Interstate Highways 81, 88 and 86. Colgate University, Binghamton University, Syracuse University, Hartwick College, Utica College, State Colleges at Cortland and Oneonta are all within 50 minutes from the village.
