  • Social Studies: We are putting the art into the Constitution! This week, students tackled the Preamble by putting it into their own words and creating incredible illustrations to bring the phrases to life. The creativity on display was absolutely top-tier! Don't forget—our next Vocabulary Quiz is on May 29. Have a historic and wonderful weekend!

  • Science is working on decomposition.  We will move on to study energy next week.  The next vocabulary quiz will take place on June 5th.  I did email the new lists home yesterday.  Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

6th Grade:

  • Math: The students are working hard on their collaborative 3D amusement park projects, which is a culminating activity that blends all topics covered this year.  They will need to begin to bring in materials to build their 3D models after break.  Each group will need a foam poster board to build on and any other supplies they want to use to build.  Sample supplies include: popsicle sticks, legos, cardboard, pipe cleaners, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, tissue boxes, etc…)

  • Our showcase night to present and display all of these projects will be June 17th from 5-7pm!

  • Have a great weekend!

  • ELA Our sixth graders are entering the final chapters of Wonder. Over the next couple of weeks, students will take a few remaining quizzes and complete a book jacket project for their final test grade. There will be no further homework assignments for the rest of the school year. Also, a quick reminder that our classroom is running low on pencils; any donations would be highly appreciated. Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend!

  • Social Studies: 6th graders explored the fascinating rise and fall of the Roman Republic, met some influential emperors, and learned how the ancient economy functioned. 7th and 8th Grade:

  •  ELA 8:  Students in eighth-grade ELA  are  concluding their study of Inside Out and Back Again, a free-verse novel by Thanhha Lai. By following Hà's experiences as a young Vietnamese refugee, the classes are exploring intricate themes like displacement, identity, and the consequences of war. The students are enhancing their insights by examining Lai's poetic techniques and connecting Hà's path to historical events.

  • Monday, June 1st: Deadline for students to complete their chosen independent reading books for their final assessment.
