Mandated Health Screenings

Oxford Academy and Central School will continue to require employees, students, and visitors to wear masks in the buildings during the summer while instruction is occurring.  No masks will be required for outside activities, or during snack and lunch as students will be social distanced.  When students are not in the building, masks will not be required for vaccinated individuals but will be required for unvaccinated individuals.

*Physical exam-to be completed within 30 days of entry

Vision Screening: (distance acuity only)

     -Kindergarten and grades 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10

     -Kindergarten and grades 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10

Scoliosis (Spinal Screening)

     -Grades 5 through 9

Physical Exam (Health Appraisal)

     -PreKindergarten or Kindergarten and grades 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11.

If there are any unusual findings or cause for concern, the school nurse will contact the parent/guardian.  In the event additional evaluation is needed, a referral form will be sent home to the parent/guardian to take to their private healthcare provider.

As always, if you have a concern with your child, please feel free to contact the school nurse.  Remember:  Children need to learn to be healthy and need to be healthy to learn.
