End of the Year Update 6.9.26
Hello Oxford Community,
As we approach the end of another successful school year, I want to take a moment to share several important dates and updates regarding the end of the school year, summer programming, and our ongoing capital improvement project.
This time of year always seems to move quickly, with concerts, ceremonies, field trips, athletic events, and end-of-year celebrations filling our calendars. As we navigate these final weeks together, please take note of the following important information. We also encourage families to check with their child's school building for specific event dates, times, and end-of-year activities, as schedules can vary by grade level and building.
Important Dates
• June 16: Last day of instruction for High School students
• June 17-25: Regents Examination Period
• June 19: No School (Juneteenth Observance)
• June 22-25: Half days for UPK-8 students
• June 25: Last day of school for UPK-8 students
Summer Construction Project
As many of you know, our capital project will continue throughout the summer months. While these improvements will provide significant long-term benefits for our students, staff, and community, they will also create some temporary disruptions.
The entire Middle School building, along with the surrounding grounds, will be completely closed throughout the summer. Students, staff, community members, and outside organizations will not have access to the building or the surrounding grounds during this time. We will communicate with families and community members as soon as the building is reopened and available for use.
In addition to building renovations in the Primary and High School buildings, construction work will be taking place in several outdoor areas, including the baseball and softball fields and portions of our playground facilities. As a result, these areas will not be available for public use during the summer.
Summer Programs
Summer programs will continue as planned and will be housed within the Primary School and High School buildings. Due to ongoing construction, we ask that all visitors call ahead before coming to campus to ensure that access is available and to confirm building entry locations.
Temporary Office Locations
To accommodate construction, several district offices will be temporarily relocated:
• District Office: High School Library
• Primary School Office: Shared location in High School Office
• Middle School Office: High School Counseling Office
Despite these temporary moves, all district phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same. Please continue to contact us using the same information you normally use.
Please also note that district offices will be closed on Fridays during the summer months.
We understand that these temporary changes may create some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience, flexibility, and support. The work taking place this summer represents a significant investment in the future of Oxford Academy and Central School District, and we are excited about the improvements that will benefit our students and community for years to come.
On behalf of the Board of Education and the entire Oxford staff, thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. We wish all of our students, families, and community members a safe, enjoyable, and well-deserved summer.
Sincerely,
Nicholas A. Colosi
Superintendent of Schools
