  • Throughout the year, our eighth graders have worked diligently to refine the skills necessary for success in ninth grade and beyond. From improving their reading and writing abilities to participating in field trips and cross-curricular projects, they have embraced various ways of learning.

  • It has been a sincere joy to have your children in my classroom. This wonderful group of students has impacted my life and this school year in such rewarding ways. I truly hope they stay in touch as they move forward, and I always welcome hearing from both you and your children.

  • To support your child's transition into ninth grade, I recommend a few key practices for continued success:

  • Engage in daily, meaningful conversations and take time to truly listen to their thoughts.

  • Foster a love for reading and encourage them to write frequently—whether through journals, letters, or stories—to help organize their ideas.

  • Practice organizational habits and help them build the confidence to solve problems independently.

  • Getting to know you and your children has been an absolute pleasure. Strong parental support and open communication are vital to a successful year, and I thank you for everything you have done to make this year so memorable.

  • Wishing you all a restful and wonderful summer!

  • Tech 6-8:  With the flurry of the end of the school year, I thought it appropriate to give thanks to some generous contributions bestowed on the Oxford Technology Department during the  2025/26 year. I first want to thank our local Norwich Curtis Lumber, in conjunction with Spec Ops Tool Co. and store manager Bob Moore for an extraordinary tool donation. I had reached out to Curtis Lumber earlier this year hoping to affordably update much needed tools in our wood shops. They not only donated my original acquisition of a class set of tape measures, but also included many other useful, quality tools for use in our Tech Classes. This fundamentally refreshed and updated our tech labs, and I am profoundly humbled and grateful for this significantly impactful gift.

Tools donated include:

  • 16' Tape Measure    x 16

  • 25' Tape Measure    x 16

  • Hammers                 x 15

  • Screwdriver Set       x 18

  • Trim Bar                   x 20

  • Carpenter's Pencils  x 100

Please consider both Curtis Lumber, the next time you are in Norwich, as well as Spec Ops tools for quality tools and materials.

Further, earlier in the year, Enoch and Debbie Perkins of Newark Valley were kind enough to choose Oxford as the recipient of the Kelly Perkins' Classroom Dream Scholarship. This $100 donation will be used to upgrade a to be determined tool or supplies in the high school shop. Thank you Enoch and Debbie!
